​​​The Bankruptcy Commission is pleased to announce the launch of the First Conference on Resolving Insolvencies (SCORI 2019) which will take place in Riyadh on April 29th and 30th 2019, under the Patronage of H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid Bin Abdallah Alqassabi.

The conference provides an overview of the positive impact of bankruptcy laws in resolving insolvencies through setting an attractive investment environment that protects the investment entities and support the continuation of their investment practice. This overview is based on the latest international and domestic practices that are related to the procedures of the new Bankruptcy Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/50) dated 28/05/1439 A.H. namely Protective Settlement, Financial Restructuring, and Liquidation procedures.

The new law came into force in August 2018, and since that time many applications brought before the commercial courts and commenced accordingly. This conference provides sessions to discuss the practical dimensions of the Law and the associated implications.  It is worth noting that a number of well- known enterprises which suffered financially enjoyed the provisions of the Law. And they are expected to enhance the growth of the local investment market.
